Walt: Create an avertisement persuading people to go to the Special Olympics here in Palmerston North . I used MS Publisher to create this poster. To make my poster stand out and gtrab the readers attention in this poster. I found making the colours bold diffucult because there wasn't very many colours that were bold on each other. Some thing I enjoyed was using the laptop to create something I thought was a good advertisment. Something interesting I have found out about advertising is that you have to get it good before you print.

Chinese Clothing

WALT: Follow an inquiry process.This term as we have been learning about China, we have continued building on the inquiry skills we learnt in Term 2. We brainstorm open questions as a class and then delegated these out to pairs. The part of China Josh and I were finding out more about was Clothing in China . We found our information by triangulating the information. We used a data chart to make sure our information was correct. We then used Movie Maker to present our information. Something I enjoyed was being in a movie . An interesting fact I found was that China have simaler style clothing to us . My next learning step inquiry is to be more organised and use time better and be more sensible in using time.

Today in reading we were using our key word stratergy to find out more infomation about China. Something I found really interesting was that they do lots of P.E because here we dont do much.

Last week Cindy's Dad came to share with us all about China. He gave us Moon Cake because Moon Cakes are a special Chinese Dessert and they eat them at their Autumn Celebration. An interesting fact I learnt was taht Chinese people write differently to us and they have a Traditional writing and a Simplified writng. I really enjoyed the part when he showed us the chinese numbers.

Maori language week

This is my pikikids on our maori language week activity of when we did some weaving with our teachers.

During Week 1, we had a variety of learning experiences to tune us into ideas about
our new big question for this term -how are cultures and traditions expressed through
dance? We had a performance for Boys High Pacifica group, a performance from St Peters Pacifica group and a drumming workshop. I enjoyed St peters dancing the most
because I got to dance in front of my freinds. Something new I learnt was that many cultures are expressed through dance.

Our school is named after St James because the man who built our school was called James. St james showed he followed Jesus because he preached about Jesus and God and
he stood up for himself. An interesting fact about St James is that him and his brother John were called the thunder brothers.

This voicethread explains what I have learnt about the Short Tailed Bat. Something I think I did really well was that I stayed on task. Next time I do an inquiry I could improve on puting my infomation down more neatly. The part I liked best was the CreateIt stuff because it was realy interesting on how many sites there were about this animal.
